Not all children start their holidays immediately after school ends – some prefer to come to us at the Open Lab Graz! As part of KinderUniGraz, two groups of around 20 children aged between 8 and 14 got a taste of real laboratory work. Together with Heide Beranek-Knauer and Lucas Eder, they conducted experiments in biology, chemistry and physics, extracted DNA, operated laboratory equipment and asked curious questions.
And who knows – maybe some of these young visitors will be conducting research as students at the University of Graz in a few years!
