Can you be a researcher and an influencer at the same time – and use that to make science, institutions, and university work visible?
Yes, you can. For anyone who wants to communicate scientific content to the public, social media offers one of the most effective and accessible ways to reach people.
How do you get started?
This question was at the centre of our fully booked lunchtime workshop series “Science goes Social”. Together with experts, participants explored key elements of modern science communication: authentic personal branding, foundational principles of SciComm, and strategic insights into the social media work of the University of Graz. They received practical guidance on how to present research, faculties, and scientific topics in a visible, understandable, and relatable way.
A warm thank you goes to our speakers Kathrin Hiller (KPTN Marketing), Helmut Jungwirth (Professor of Science Communication), David Weber and Michael Angele (Social Media, University of Graz), as well as to all participants for their active engagement and great interest.
The workshop series will continue in 2026.
All information about upcoming dates will be published here on our website.
